Freshbooks – The easy alternative to QuickBooks or Quicken.

March 19th, 2010

Do you use billing software? Does your company need an easier way to track your expenses and invoice your clients? I recommend Freshbooks.

I used QuickBooks for 3 years until I ultimately decided that I really had to get away from it. Though I am quite adept at a using a computer (I have a computer repair blog), I never understood how QuickBooks was supposed to work. The way you have to do things doesn’t make sense to me. i soon realized that even hiring a bookkeeper to take care of my books didn’t solve the problem. It just made it more difficult. Having an offsite bookkeeper is great but it means that we had to do a lot of back and forth emailing because when someone made a change, the other person’s didn’t have it. It really was difficult.

So as I said, I switched to Freshbooks. I like the fact that Freshbooks is on the web because if either my bookkeeper or I make changes to the account, the other person sees the changes immediately. And it makes me happy!

Freshbooks is simple to use. It really is. When you log in, you are presented with their home screen. From there you can input new clients, create invoices, track the time that you spend on your projects, create estimates, input expenses, manage your clients & staff, and much more. Did I mention that you can use it FREE? Of course there are pay options but you can start using it absolutely free.

Unlike many other software companies, Freshbooks really seems to listen to their clients. They created a new feature a few weeks ago and it was well received but with some ideas for correction. Their development team took the issue to heart and quickly changed the way that it was done. They really made it better. They listened to their clients and therefore they now have a much better product.

In short, Freshbooks is an easy alternative to the cumbersome software that we all used in the past and I can’t recommend Freshbooks enough. I really do use it and I don’t work for the,. I am just a PC tech that has found a product that I like and I want to share it with you.
