Do the work up front avoid the pain down the road with a Windows Registry Scan

The windows registry is the single most important part of your computer’s core operating system. The registry is what joins all the other software components in the computer together. When programs are installed their pieces are scattered into several folders and connected together through the registry. Settings in your programs, even the last state of your window and it’s size are all recorded in the registry.

If the registry gets corrupted your computer starts to act like it has a flu. When entries to parts of a program become corrupt you start to get illegal operation errors just before the program crashes. Often people turn their frozen computer off at the switch not properly shutting down windows and if the registry was being access (as it is usually always being accessed if a program is running) this could cause a corruption in the files being access. Usually the program will check the integrity of the entries used by the program as part of the start up routine but sometimes it doesn’t catch one or can’t overwrite the corrupt entry and this causes the program to freeze and eventually crash.

You can clean your registry with a windows registry scan. There are programs that will do a complete scan and even clean the registry for you removing corrupt or invalid entries that are slowing your computer down like trying to run through a hallway full of toys.

One such program worth investigating is Regcure by Parentologic. This program is discussed a lot on various PC related blogs and websites and is rated as one of the top registry repair tools available. To learn more about this product read our review of Regcure

Once the scanner does a full windows registry scan, you can hit one button and it will repair all the problems breathing new life into your computer once you reboot it!

The windows registry scan programs these days do much more than just clean the registry, they also optimize it, defragment it, and even monitor it in real time for problems. Some will even run a scan at intervals you specify such as every hour and it will work in the background so you don’t even realize it’s doing it. This is the best way to keep your PC running fast and crash free! Wouldn’t you like to have a computer that woke up every day in a good mood and stayed running optimally all the time?

The Vundo trojan is an adware program that is downloaded and installed on the unsuspecting PC. Once in operation, it tracks internet use and bombards the user with pop-ups. Infection usually occurs by visiting a visiting a link contained in a seemingly innocuous email. You can identify an infection of your PC by looking for the files C:bla.exe and %ProgramFiles%system32vundo.dll.

If your infected the first step should be to consult your antivirus software website and get support if it can not remove Vundo. If you don’t have anti-virus protection, or your current package is unable to do the job, you might try checking out this trojan vundo website.  We also found a page on this website called how to remove trojan vundo that you should find useful.  It's one of the few sites out there that tell people how to fully remove this threat.

A great option for many is to use an online scanner or service. These services typically will scan your computer on-line, then advise you of issues and repair them if you desire. Be very aware however because like most things there is a catch. Some of them aren’t legit. This software hunckers down and further infects your computer. Always be diligent and do your homework before allowing an outside source to have remote access to your computer. One website you might consider using is this computer repair site. They have a "no fix, no fee" policy and a good reputation for getting the job done.

Manually removal can be very hard and not for the faint of heart. It requires you to alter your registry settings, remove a handful of files, then put your registry back to the way it was before you began. This solution is not recommended for beginner or intermediate users, but for advanced users it can be a lot of fun while also allowing you to know you've completely eradicated the trojan. While there are free programs out there to help you remove this trojan none of them will give you engouh protection so you do not get infected again. You'll find the information within the first few results.
