The Software Odds Behind the Game of Roulette

May 31st, 2009
Comments Off

Roulette is often said to be the casual casino player’s game of choice. It’s quite easy to walk up to the roulette table and simply place a bet – at the roulette table, no one is typically sitting down, and there is no maximum number of players – so it’s almost as though you’re always welcome at the roulette table. Additionally, it’s an easy-paced casino game that just about anyone can learn the basics of by just watching a few spins.

The game of roulette is a negative expectation one – i.e. over the long run you are expected to lose. Here are a few things you should know in order to at least get better looking odds than anyone else at the roulette table. On American roulette tables, all bets calculate out to the same house edge of 5.25%. The single exception to this rule is the 5-number bet, which has an even worse edge of 7.29%.

How then can you get better odds? Here are a few tips:

1. Keep an eye out for is a rule called ‘surrender’. Surrender is available at many casinos. The rule only applies to outside even money bets, and it doesn’t affect the edge of your whole session. This rule simply cuts your losses in half in the instance of a green pocket hitting. So if you’re betting an even money outside bet and a double zero or zero hits, you only lose half of your bet, not the entire thing. This of course pulls the house edge on outside even money bets down to 2.63%, which is definitely a lot better.

2. Look out for the single zero roulette wheel, i.e. the European roulette wheel. A European roulette wheel has a single zero pocket, and no double zero. There are only a total of 37 pockets left on the wheel, which does cut the casino house edge. This small and subtle shift lowers the house edge on all bets (not just the outside even money ones) to 2.70%. Very very nice.

Hopefully you’ve found our roulette information useful. If you haven’t already done it, you should try playing roulette at your favorite online casino via sites like: Online Roulette Games, Online Roulette Game or Online Roulette Gambling.

The Software Within Those Casino Slot Machines

Playing slots on the Internet is much the same as playing slot machines in more traditional casinos. You put coins in a slot, pull a lever, and hope the same pictures on the reels all line up.  However, online slots give you the convenience of being able to play without having to leave your home, any time of the day.  And on most sites, the payout is set as high as the highest machines in Las Vegas.

Like its real life counterpart, online slots are one of the most popular casino games.  Many people find slots less stressful and easier to play than games such as blackjack and roulette. They are a simple, carefree games.  If you have never played online slots, you may want to start by finding a site that lets you play with virtual money.  That way you can familiarize yourself with the game without losing money.  Once you are comfortable playing, you can start playing with real money.

Just as with traditional slots, when playing online slots you get the potential to make money, but you also have the potential to lose money.  Check into sites to find out which have the highest payout percentage.  Many people worry that they may get cheated; but these machines are powered by random number generators, and the results of every game is completely random.

If you go to reputable sites, you do not have to worry about being cheated. The best way to avoid scams is to read reviews and try multiple sites.  Some people also worry about using their credit card online.  Again, if you do research and go to reputable site, you don’t have to worry.  Your credit card information will be sent over encrypted connections.  Just to make sure, do a spyware and virus scan on your computer before putting in your credit card number anywhere on the Internet.  Just as with factual life slots, there are different types of online slots.

Although all online slots are really just visual representations of three, and five reel slots, they all have very real slots jackpots. Do not worry about what type you play, just be sure to always have fun! You can find free slot software on sites like Free Online Slots Video Poker, Free Slots Machines or Casino Slots.

Do you have lots of different software products installed on your PC that you never use? Have you ever downloaded a game and it never ended up working? How about all those unused applications as well as temporary internet files that you didn’t know about?

Part of ensuring that a computer lives a long life is to ensure that you take care of it by removing things that are not required by the computer or even by you. The unused programs and files are taking up valuable space and resources on your computer, slowing it down and deceasing its performance rate.

Removing these unwanted files and applications is not hard but at the same time it would require patience as well as time from you. Windows has various tools that you can now use to find as well as remove unwanted files, folders and applications.

By going to Start →Settings →Control Panel → Add/remove Programs – you can quickly start uninstalling application you don’t use anymore. This will bring up a list of programs you currently have installed on your computer, you can then scroll through and select the program you want to remove and then click remove and it will start uninstalling the program for you.  For large programs, you may get a message saying restart your computer for the changes to take affect. Just restart and then re analyze the amount of space you have left on your C drive by going to My Computer and then right click on the Local (C) → go to Properties and then look at the amount of “free Space” you have left. DO this before the removing of program files and then after to see how much space you have recovered from deleting un-wanted and unused program files.

When the program has been removed from the computer it means that it has just been un-installed. You still need to go into the program files folder and delete the setup files. To do this, you may need to go into My Computer → Local Disk (C) → Program Files and then locate the folder and delete setup files and additional files from here as well.
At the same time, it would also be ideal to purchase a computer maintenance kit that contains software that can do this so that you can have your computer working like clock-work all year round.

Don’t Just Rely on the Google and MSN Toolbars For Popups and Spyware Protection!

May 31st, 2009
Comments Off

This article exposes the limitations of the most common and often free ways to prevent and eliminate popups in the wider context of adware and spyware protection.

Adware is a common term meaning any type of software designed to play, display or download adverts on computers. Some adware are programmed to invade the privacy of the users and are commonly referred to as spyware. These programs obtain then share personal information about the users, without their knowledge or consent.

Adware popups have become a common irritation for most users and many are now looking for free ways to disable them. For many users, using free popup blockers such as the Google and MSN toolbars is the preferred solution. Only a minority of users know about the link between popups and spyware, and even fewer still, take the right steps to protect themselves. Most users only concentrate on blocking popups. The fact remains, that both the removal of adware and spyware as well as their prevention are necessary to protect the users privacy, safeguard the integrity of their computers and achieve a pleasant user experience on line. This contrasts with just blocking popups, which simply creates a false sense of security. This is due to the fact that in reality, the most serious problem with popup ads is not that they are a permanent irritation, but rather that they are the symptom of spyware infection. This issue is clearly evidenced by the fact that many popups appear when computers are not even connected to the Internet.

Changing the browser settings is free and a step in the right direction

Blocking adware popups whilst browsing is easy enough. Changing the privacy settings so that popups can no longer appear on screen can be done as follows:

·      Select Control Panel in your computer

·      Click on the Internet Options icon

·      Click on the Privacy tab.

·      There is a box next to “Turn on Pop Up Blocker”.

·      Tick this box and you will block adware popups.

Once the settings have been changed, users should adjust the privacy levels on their computer. Another solution is to use the Google or MSN toolbar. Both toolbars will improve security when users browse the Internet. For more information, click on free popup blockers.

But, how about true protection? Are most users failing to see the bigger picture?

Many users simply forget to remove the adware and spyware from their computer and just focus on blocking adware and spyware. Popup blockers such as those offered by the Google and MSN toolbars, whilst useful are just dealing with one aspect of privacy and system integrity protection. For more information click on block spyware.

At this point, it is recommended to consider more broadly, how to protect the users’ privacy as well as preserve their computer integrity from spyware and adware attacks. In addition to running an anti-virus software that is up to date, users should remove the spyware and adware on their computer. Frequently users download adware and spyware unknowingly.

Typically, the removal of adware and spyware is easily achieved with the most popular adware and spyware removal tools which can also block popups. The most popular adware and spyware removal tools benefit from frequent updates, which rely on research teams who review the latest adware and spyware threats. Using adware and spyware removal programs, which can also block popups, deals with the root causes of the problem rather than just the symptoms of adware and spyware attack. This method is therefore far superior than just relying on free popup blocker programs. For more information click on adware spyware removal.

The Inside Tricks of Caribbean Stud Poker Software

May 30th, 2009

Does a Caribbean stud poker strategy exist that will make the house’s edge reasonable?  Unfortunately, the answer is no unless the jackpot is at a high level.  To explain further…  Caribbean stud Poker offers a sizable house advantage of over 5% – not in terms of cards but by way of the betting structure.  The fact that you MUST bet three times in order to stay in a hand definitely does not help your advantage.  The times that the dealer does not qualify (44% of the tim), you only win your ante – which in most instances isn’t very much. On the other hand, if you decide to fold, you lose your ante and the round is over.

For Caribbean stud poker, there is no room for ‘dumb’ play – the house edge is already high enough to take care of that.  Despite the overwhelming house advantage, there are a few little things that you can do to better your odds, here we go:

1. Always fold if you hold nothing.
2. If the setting isn’t right, don’t make the bet.
3. Always make the bet with a pair of better.
4. If you hold ace-king, make the bet if one of your other three cards matches the dealer’s up card.
5. Make the bet if you hold ace-king-queen or ace-king-jack when the dealer’s up card is any of your five cards.

Most all online casinos now offer you a free bonus deposits. Some are known as sign-up bonuses, here if you deposit a certain amount of money the casino will match it the first time (up to a set limit) these types of bonuses tend to stay in the hundreds of dollars. Past types of free money amounts can be anything from 20 – 50 dollars, and even much more depending on your sign-up deposit – so be sure to cut out good online casino reviews.

Caribbean stud poker is typically available at your favorite online casino. It and other casino favorites such as the slots and roulette can be played directly online. Try it for yourself if you haven’t already via sites like Caribe Club Princess, Casino Caribbean or Online Casino Craps.
